Cub Scout Pack 405 is part of the Dan Beard Council and is open to all area students in grades K-5. Starting as a Pack for students of Sherwood Elementary in Anderson Township, we also serve students at Mercer Elementary and Mt. Washington School. All families are welcome!
Our charter organization is Mt Washington Presbyterian Church. MWPC has a long history of supporting Scouting, having hosted units for over 80 years.
If you've met us at a recent event, or found us on Facebook, we'd love to get in touch about how Cub Scouting can benefit your family.
With a worldwide fellowship, Scouting is unique. It is based on the principles of loving and human dignity and the rights of individuals, and of recognizing the obligation of members to develop and use their potential. It is a movement dedicated to bringing out the best in people. Cub Scouting doesn’t emphasize winning as an end result, but rather the far more demanding task of doing one’s best.
Tired of sitting on hard bleachers or in your car while your kid does an activity? In Cub Scouts, we encourage parents and siblings to join the fun. Parents can help or join an activity, be a Den Leader, and more.
No tryouts, no cuts, no sitting on the bench wishing for playing time. In Cub Scouts, everyone gets an opportunity to participate. The Cub Scout motto is "Do Your Best" and we give our Scouts plenty of opportunities to do so, whether it's creating a Pinewood Derby car, learning to tie a knot, or helping with a service project.
